How to port your number away from RingRx
If you have a number with RingRx and you need to move it to another telephone company, you can do so using a process called “porting”. This process is an official process in which two phone companies manage who is responsible for your number.
In order to initiate a port from RingRx to another phone company, you will need to contact the new company to handle the process. RingRx does not play a role other than approving the port out – which is handled with the new phone company, not the end user or Account holder.
Some things to know:
- Do not cancel your RingRx account until your number has completed porting
- RingRx is not able to assist you with this process – the entire porting process is handled by the “gaining” (aka the new)phone company
- The new phone company may ask you for details about your account. You can access this information in the billing section of our portal, on your Invoice
- Your account number is any of the phone numbers on your RingRx Account that you are porting out
- You do not need a PIN to port your number out from RingRx. If the company you are porting to insists on having one, tell them it is 0000.
