How Do I Transfer Calls?

From the Web Phone

To warm transfer a call within your RingRx web phone (accessible through your RingRx Portal dashboard screen):

While in a call, select the Transfer icon (two arrows moving in opposite directions)
When the number pad pops up, type in the extension you’re transferring the call to
Wait for the extension to pick up
Click the green button at the bottom of the number pad

To cold transfer a call:

While in a call, select the Transfer icon (two arrows moving in opposite directions)
When the number pad pops up, type in the extension you’re transferring the call to
Click the green button at the bottom of the number pad

From the Mobile App

While in a call, select the Transfer option
Type the extension you transferring the call to, then press the Dial icon on your keypad

From a Desk Phone

Option 1: Consultative Transfer (Recommended)

Use this if you want to announce the caller before handing them over.

Start the Transfer: While on an active call, press the Transfer button (physical key to the left of the number pad) or the Transfer softkey on the screen. The caller is automatically placed on hold.

Dial the Destination: Enter the extension or phone number of the person you are transferring to, then press Send.

Complete the Transfer: Once they are ready to take the call, press the Transfer button or softkey again to connect the two parties.

Option 2: Blind Transfer

Use this to send the call immediately without talking to the recipient.

Start the Transfer: While on an active call, press the Transfer button or softkey.

Select Blind: Press the Blind softkey on the screen. (If you don't see it, you may need to press a More softkey first).

Send: Press the Send softkey. The call will leave your phone and ring directly through to the recipient.
