Poly Edge Firmware Upgrade & Auto-Provisioning Guide

A step-by-step guide to updating your Poly Edge Phone firmware and setting up auto-provisioning to activate your phone on our network.

Before configuring your device, make sure you have added it to your portal. If you haven't added your device yet, please follow our Device Registration Guide.

Part 1: Upgrading Device Firmware


Note: You may already be on the correct firmware version, but you may need to update to the latest build to ensure proper compatibility. Following these steps ensures your device has the correct firmware.

Step 1: Access the Web Interface

  1. Press the Home button on your desk phone.
  2. Select Settings and navigate to:Status > Network > TCP/IP Parameters to find your device’s IP Address.
  3. Open a web browser on your computer and type https:// followed by your phone’s IP address into the URL bar. 
    Example: https://192.168.1.50 or http://192.168.1.50
  4. Log in using the following default credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: 123 or 1234

Step 2: Perform the Firmware Upgrade

  1. In the top navigation menu, go to Utilities > Software Upgrade.
  2. Configure the following fields:
    • Server Type: Select Custom Server
    • Server Address:https://ringrx-devicefiles.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/edge/edge_build.xml
  3. Click Check For Updates, then click Close on the pop-up window.
  4. Select the top software version from the drop-down list.
  5. Click Install, then click Yes to confirm.
  6. Your phone will perform a series of automatic reboots. Do not unplug or interrupt the phone during this process. Once the reboots finish, proceed to Part 2 below.

 

Part 2: Device Provisioning

 

 

Step 1: Access the Web Interface

(If you are still logged into your phone's web interface, skip to Step 2.)

  1. Press the Home button on your phone.
  2. Select Settings and navigate to Status > Network > TCP/IP Parameters to locate the IP Address.
  3. In your web browser, navigate to https://[YOUR-PHONE-IP].
    Example: https://192.168.1.50 or http://192.168.1.50
  4. Log in using Username: admin and Password: 123 (or 1234).

Step 2: Configure Auto-Provisioning

  1. In the top menu, navigate to Settings > Provisioning Server.
  2. Update the fields as specified below:
Setting Field Action / Value
Server Type Select HTTPS
Server Address https://prov.ringrx.com:10003/device/edge
Server User Clear this field (leave blank)
Server Password Clear this field (leave blank)
Tag SN to UA Select Enable

Step 3: Save and Reboot

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Submit.
  2. Click OK on the confirmation prompt.
  3. Your phone will automatically reboot.

Once the device finishes restarting, it will connect to the servers automatically, and your phone will be ready to make and receive calls!
