Tags (KB)

RingRx uses tags in many features on our service.  Tags are a helpful way to help you understand what parts of your system are being used.  They are very useful when analyzing how calls flow through your system and how a particular feature is being activated.

A tag is a piece of information that describes the data or content that it is assigned to. Tags are nonhierarchical keywords used for feature bookmarks. A tag doesn't carry any information or semantics itself.  Instead a tag is more like a label that is affixed to some record that passes through your RingRx system.

For example, lets say you have two Ring Groups setup.  One for Appointments and one for Billing.  You could add a Tag to each Group with a label that you understand, like "appts" and "billing".  Now every time a caller calls in and gets routed to one of those groups, the applicable Tag would be bound to the call record for that call.  Then every week, or month, or whatever period, you could determine how many calls routed through each group.  You would do this by going to the Calls tab in the portal, then selecting the Tag dropdown and selecting the Tag you wish to analyze.  This obviously gives you powerful information about how many calls are routed to these respective teams, helping you with staffing and patient needs.

As soon as you add a tag to a feature, and then a call routes through that feature, the Tag will appear as an option in the Tags dropdown on the Calls page.
