Using the RingRx Softphone (aka "Webphone")

RingRx softphone is a great option for staff that are on the phone frequently, handle multiple calls and text conversations, or would like to talk hands free.

RingRx offers a browser-based phone that can be used for calls and texts.  The phone can be accessed from within the portal here:

https://portal.ringrx.com/

Then select “Launch Webphone” button in the upper left

You must be logged in to the portal in order to use the softphone.  Log in using the same credentials (email address and password) that you use to log into the mobile app and the web portal.  The softphone is a fully functional phone and texting app that lets you answer, transfer, conference, handle multiple calls, text plus much more.

Making Calls with the Softphone

There are two ways to make a call:

  1. Via Contact – find your Contact and hover your mouse over the contact.  Click the phone icon.
  2. Enter a number – enter a phone number in the Enter Phone field at the upper left, then click the phone icon to the right, or press Enter
Contacts can be created in the Contacts tab in the portal

Texting with the Softphone

You can send texts from either the RingRx portal (Webphone) or the RingRx mobile app (not your phone’s native Messages app). In the portal, launch the Webphone, start a text thread by selecting a contact or entering a number, then type your message in the SMS field and send it. In the mobile app, start a text conversation by going to Messages.

You can message other RingRx users or outside numbers. Free Trial limits apply: up to 10 recipient numbers total, texts can only be sent from one RingRx number, and each outbound message must include “<RingRx> Free Trial Message” for TCR compliance.
