Fax Fetcher Guide
Export your Faxes using our App
The RingRx Fax Fetcher is a desktop utility that automates your fax workflow by logging into your RingRx portal, and automatically downloading incoming faxes directly to a designated folder on your computer. This eliminates the need to manually log into the web portal to retrieve and export your documents.
Step 1: Download and Extract the Utility
First, you will need to download the application files to your local computer.
- Go to the RingRx Fax Fetcher GitHub Repository .
- Click the green Code button and select Download ZIP.
- Open the downloaded ZIP file and extract all files to a location that is easy for you to find, such as your Desktop.
Step 2: Configure Your Account Settings
Before running the application, you must link it to your RingRx account and specify where your files should be saved.
- Open the extracted folder and rename the file
vm_fetcher.conf.exampletovm_fetcher.conf. - Right-click the renamed
vm_fetcher.conffile, select Open with, and choose Notepad. - Update the following configuration lines:
- Username: Locate
acct_usernameand replace it with your RingRx portal email address. - Password: Locate
acct_passwordand replaceacct_passwith your portal password. - Destination Folder: Locate
destination_dir: voicemails. You can leave this as default, or change it to a specific folder path on your computer where you want the files saved (for example:destination_dir: D:\Users\Documents).
- Username: Locate
- Press Ctrl + S (or click File ➔ Save) and close Notepad.
Step 3: Run the Application
Once configured, you can launch the utility to begin downloading your messages.
- Double-click the vm_fetcher.exe file inside your folder.
- If a Windows protection popup appears, click More info and then select Run anyway.
The application will launch, automatically log into your portal, and immediately begin downloading your messages directly into your designated destination folder.
