Creating a Group
Managing Groups in RingRx
A Group bundles multiple extensions together into a single extension, allowing you to ring multiple people at the same time. This is ideal for phone number routing where a team needs to monitor the same number, such as a reception desk or an appointments team.
Step 1: Create a Group
- Log into the RingRx Portal at portal.ringrx.com .
- In the top right-hand corner, click Settings.
- Select Groups.
- Click Add New Group in the top right corner.
- Fill out the following key settings (you can leave the rest as default):
- Group Name
- 3-Digit Extension
- Mailbox
- Group Members
- Click Save.

Step 2: Route Calls to Your New Group
Once your group is created, you need to configure your account to start routing calls to it. The most common setup is updating your main office number to ring this group.
- Log into the RingRx Portal at portal.ringrx.com .
- Click Settings in the top right-hand corner.
- Select Numbers.
- Click View next to the phone number you want to change.
- Click Edit next to Base Settings.
- Change the Extension field to your newly created Group.
- Click Save.
Now, when a customer calls that number, it will ring all members of the group simultaneously.
Alternative: Route via Auto Attendant
If you use an Auto Attendant (phone tree), you can also assign a menu option to route to this group. For example, you can set it so that "Press 1 for our Appointments Team" routes directly to your new group extension.
